The Sun was setting in the East and slowly Night crept up on Middle Earth. As the wind rushed against his face and whistled in his ears, Elviondel gave a loud screech from his Falcon Mouth, Several cries were heard in response. Elviondel gave a shorter screech in reply and sailed towards the ground. As the small red tailed Falcon perched on a branch of a tree on the feet of the Misty Mountains, no wanderer would guess the hidden power lying within this small bird of prey. Elviondel used his Falcon eyes to scan the area and when all was clear, Elviondel Cadrieldur, the Protector Elf was sitting on the branch listening to all the sounds he could here. “Thank you my friends” Elviondel said softly to himself looking up at the Sky. A Small black shape passed over the moon and Elviondel smiled as the Falcons screeched their cries of farewell. Elviondel crouched down and picked up a handful of earth and let it fall out of his hand, he watched as the dirt slowly slid and travelled with the wind to the north. Slowly, Elviondel approached the foot of the mountains, and laid his hands upon the cool rock, his eyes closed and he listened to the mountains. “Then to Rivendell, I will go, Bless You” Sensitively Elviondel spoke to the mountains. Closing his eyes, Elviondel raised his arms to the skies and prepared to change again. Within seconds Elviondel had become a Wolf, fast, intelligent and full of Stamina. The Wolf smelt the air and with his good night vision, he found a small path leading between the mountains, the wolf crept with a quick but silent pace between the paths of the misty mountains. Every now and again, Elviondel would stop and smell the air. The wind was harsher and colder between the gaps in between the mountains. The rushing water of streams and rivers could be heard loudly all around him, after what seemed like hours, Elviondel stopped and smelt the air. He stopped suddenly, something was near. Elviondel let out a loud Howl trying to warn off any approaching intruder. But the sounds of footsteps were unmistakeable now, and they were still coming, Elviondel jumped to the side and crouched below a bush. The sounds of voices came from his left and out of the darkness came a small group of patrolling Orcs, Elviondel growled, and they stopped, there were at least 8 of them. “Oi, who’s there?” Shouted the Leader “Maybe, it’s the Ring-bearer, with those Elves and that stupid dwarf” One of them whispered to another “Come out Now, By order of Saruman, Ruler of Isenguard” Shouted Leader Orc Elviondel growled again, he heard the foot steps of Orcs moving around the bush to attack him from behind. “I’m Warning You!” The Leader shouted again Elviondel slinked away to the left and came to the foot of a large Oak Tree; he listened as the Orcs jumped into the bush after him. Then as they argued among themselves, he morphed back into his own Body. Elviondel, silently and quickly scaled the tree, he crouched down on a large branch and waited for the Orcs to move into his line of sight. It was near midnight and he could not see very well, but he could hear them approaching. The blurry shapes stepped into his sight and Elviondel removed his Silver Hunters Bow from his back, he readied an arrow and pulled back waiting to strike. The voices trailed over to him as the Moon moved into cover of cloud. “What was it?” Asked a dumfounded Orc “I think it was one of those Wolves!” Said another Elviondel focused and let the arrow fly, the arrow hit home, striking down the closest Orc. There was a hard thud as his corpse hit the floor. But now that the moonlight had faded, not even the Orcs could penetrate the deep dark of the night. “What was that?” Asked a shivering Orc No answer “Hello…” The Orc was cut off as Elviondel’s second arrow struck him in the head, killing him instantly. Elviondel shifted over on the tree and tried to focus in on the remainder of the group. He could he the leader and the others talking but he could not see them; all he could see was the bush he had hidden in. Elviondel crouched low and muttered some Ancient Elvish, the bush shook and the Orcs stopped talking, “It’s back” one of them whispered “Get it!” Shouted the leader and three Orcs jumped into the bush. Elviondel was quick and he shot down two of the Orcs, while they lay in the bush. He jumped almost silently from the tree, and prepared for another attack. As he pressed his body flat against the tree listening for any sign of the other four Orcs, the moon came back out from the clouds, his silver bow, began to shine in the moonlight and the Orcs spotted it! “Over there!” One shouted “Get it!!” another shouted Elviondel stood up straight and pulled out a Gold Elven Blade, As the rushing footsteps came closer, he span the blade in his hand and with out even looking he thrust the blade forward right between the eyes of an oncoming Orc. The other Orc reeled and swung his battle axe at Elviondel, he jumped it and as he came round for a second swing Elviondel ducked, but held the Axe, and smiled at the Orc as a rush of cold fear washed over him. As the Orc ran, he didn’t get far, he hit the ground two feet away from the leader Orc and the other survivor, he had a Gold Elven Blade in the back of his skull. The Leader was stunned and as Elviondel stepped into the light and stood with all his splendour in front of the two. The other Orc, turned and tried to run away, but the leader held him back and said “Fight you fool, he will kill you anyway” Slowly, Elviondel, not taking his eyes off of the Orcs, reached down and removed his blade from the Dead Orcs head. The Other Orc grabbed his sword and launched himself at Elviondel, dodging out of the way; Elviondel removed his bow and shot the Orc three times in the back before he fell to the ground. As Elviondel spun around he saw the Leader Orc fleeing back to Isenguard, he closed his eyes and whispered. The Leader Orc suddenly stopped and screamed, Elviondel walked over to where he was standing, his legs were bound to the floor by thick vines. Elviondel Held His Bow and Arrow at the Orc’s Head. “Tell me of, the Wizard, Elves and Dwarf, that you spoke of” Elviondel demanded “Never!” The Orc Spat The Vines around his legs spread to his waist and got tighter “Tell me!” Elviondel asked “You’ll have to Kill Me!” answered the Orc The Vines Now spread to his chest and pinned his arms to his sides “TELL ME!” Elviondel demanded A light sparked in the Elf’s eyes and the Orc shuddered, the Vines spread up to his and bound his head leaving his mouth so he could talk. “Ok, Ok! Gimli, the Dwarf was captured and held in Isenguard, Gandalf the Grey came to rescue him with his companions, Prince Legolas of Mirkwood, Eleclya of Harlindon, Princess Arwen of Rivendell and Radagast the Brown, they managed to save Gimli, but it appeared to them that Saruman was slain, but no one can kill the mighty Saruman, We will win the War Elf, Your effort will be wasted, Your Hope will fall, as will you!” croaked the Orc Elviondel crouched low next to the Orc and let out a long wolf howl! He then spoke softly to the imprisoned scum, “Hope will always be a light, when all else is dark! When your master falls, and the world around you turns against you, you will remember these words, Nature is beautiful in all its delight, but when Nature strikes, it strikes with the might force of the gods and nothing will stand in its way! Listen here Orc, the battle hasn’t even begun and already nature is taking our side! Always be watchful because even the most silent creatures are and alive and dangerous!” Elviondel smiled at his last words because as he uttered them, there was growling from behind him as a pack of wolves came answering his call. “Oh and Orc, You might want to try and get help, before my friends finish you off!” With that Elviondel turned and walked away. ‘I must get to Rivendell, they need me more than ever now, they know not of Saruman’s return. Prince Legolas is there and fair Eleclya and the Evenstar! I must fly; I need not rest, it is too important to waste. Elviondel closed his eyes and slowly transformed into an owl. And he flew off towards Rivendell. With his Owl vision it enabled him to see as if it was noon. He flew for several hours until the Sun started to rise behind him. At last he came to the end of the pass and he could see the House of Elrond and Rivendell in all its Beauty, he flew down and landed on a chair, he transformed back into Elviondel and went in search of Elrond
